LocationExchange is a new company

August 23rd, 2006

This morning the new company ‘LocationExchange’ has been founded as a ‘Cooperative Association with Limited Liability’.  This is an important step in the realisation of the Q-Sphere project.

Associates are :

-> Jo Van Hove (loc8, Belgium)
-> Frans van den Bemd (holland)

-> Scoutit (Italy)

-> Thomas Duchnicki (Creative Locations, Germany)

-> Manu Meuleman (Brauhaus, Belgium)

The aim of the company is to continue to offer quality locations online and to produce Q-Spheres for CGI adverts.
It is now possible for location professionals to become a member of LocationExchange cvba by buying shares in the company.  If you are interested, let me know…

First Q-Sphere production tests success !!

August 18th, 2006

Last week I traveled to Italy to the LocationExchange associate ‘Scoutit‘ to do some Q-Sphere tests.

Q-Sphere test in Tuscany

Our material :

A Mamiya 645, the digital back P45 of Phase One (39 million pixels). And ofcourse the Spherocam…

I worked during 3 days together with Leonardo Semplici in the stunning Tuscany athmosphere and light. Roads, fields, woods, barns in fast changing weather conditions. Finding the locations as such was really no problem tnx to the skilled professional help of Leonardo, but facing the speed of changing clouds was rather hard.

Anyway - the tests were a great success - ofcourse ;-) We made 24 Q-Spheres and 18 of them were good for ’sales’. Four of the six killed images were from the first day. We can write this on the account of the learning curve…
The Q-Spheres will be now delivered to some retouching companies to be used in (fake) car adverts. As results roll out of the computer, you’ll be the first to know !!
